Easter pet pictures set
WEIRTON — The Hancock County Humane Foundation is holding pet and people photos with the Easter Bunny from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Pet Supplies Plus in Weirton.
A $15 donation provides online and printed photos. All proceeds benefit the homeless animals in the foundation’s care.
Community Lenten service held
SMITHFIELD — Shaffer Chapel African-Methodist-Episcopal Church on township Road 191 held a community Lenten service Sunday.
Participating were the Revs. Melody R. Essex, Jim Taylor, Maggie Hoder, Craig Smith, Rich Cunningham and Phil Bliss.
Harold Pettit offered musical prayer selections. Scripture readings were offered.
Smith’s message was “The Preached Were a Christian Discipleship.”
East Bunny visit on tap
Easter Egg hunts Saturday in Steubenville
SMITHFIELD — Smithfield Friends Church will host a visit with the Easter Bunny at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Lunch will be served, and treats will be provided for children. Other activities will be held.
STEUBENVILLE — Children 10-and-under are invited to Steubenville’s annual Easter Egg hunts at Belleview and Beatty parks.
Volunteers have stuffed thousands of plastic eggs with candy in preparation for the hunts, slated to begin at 10 a.m. at Belleview Park and 11 a.m. at Beatty Park.
Steubenville Parks & Recreation is overseeing the Belleview Park hunt, while Friends of Beatty Park organized the festivities there.
Post 10 Fish Fry continues
WEIRTON — American Legion Post 10 continues to hold its weekly fish fry.
Located at 3140 Pennsylvania Ave., the event will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and is open to the public.
The menu includes Coleman’s fish sandwich or dinner. Also available will be cod nuggets, shrimp, clams, crab cakes, egg rolls, french fries, zucchini fries and your favorite beverages.
