American Legion Post 86 donates to veterans association

Toronto St. Mihiel American Legion Post 86 has contributed $600 to the Jefferson County Veterans Association to support its work to upgrade their 30-year-old military park sign in Friendship Park. The project aims to improve the park for the JCVA Memorial Day program and Jefferson County’s America’s 250th anniversary celebration, in addition to renovating the Vietnam observation plane and other exhibits in the park. Among those on hand for the presentation were, from left, Michelle Hedgecoke, Frank Popp and Dave Rhodes of the veterans association; Post 86 Commander Chuck White; Tony Phillippi, finance officer of the veterans association; Fred Tarr, vice commander of the veterans association; Pat Green of Post 86; and Barry Bardone, adjutant of the veterans association.
