Oak Glen recognizes National Honor Society inductees

NEW CUMBERLAND – Oak Glen High School recently hosted the 62nd induction ceremony of the Regina Wehner Chapter of the National Honor Society in the school’s Little Theater, welcoming 46 new members and recognizing the accomplishments of 42 existing members.
The chapter is guided by faculty advisors Trisha Enochs and Amanda McKinney.
New Inductees included: Madison Baird, Mikalyn Balch, Brooklyn Barnhart, Halle Baumgarner, Evelynn Bellville, Neveah Brooks, Roxye Brown, Mattie Carney, Ruby Chaney, Olivia Cronin, Aidan Dawson, Cammrin Dittman, Amirra Duke, Jessa Fields, Lyndon Graf, Hadassah Gray, Chase Hartung, Kenzie Hayes, Allison Haynes, Nevaeh Heath, Lilianna Hughes, Alana Hukill, Mason Kell, Amelia Kenzie, Kaylie Little, Marleah Lough, Leah McMahan, Josh Maher, Jade Mumford, Bri Polly, Samuel Potts, Cole Raines, Camryn Richards, Kylie Robinson, Kendall Six, Ellie Smith, Dezierae Stewart, Megan Thompson, Kairi Thornburg, Keira Vick, Lexi Vincent, Shawn Ware, Alexandra Watkins, Addyson Wells, Noah Willey, and Reese Witherow.
The ceremony also highlighted the achievements of existing members, who shared their future plans.

The National Honor Society was founded in 1921, following the vision of Edward Rynearson, principal of the Fifth Avenue High School in Pittsburgh, with support from the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
It was designed as a way to not only encourage education, but service, leadership and character in the schools.
Today, more than 16,000 active chapters exist.
