STEUBENVILLE — The Sycamore Youth Center continues to expand its summer programming with a series of performing arts camps led by experienced instructors Hannah Graham and Diana Tygett.
Building on the momentum of Sycamore’s growing arts initiatives, the upcoming camps will provide area youth with opportunities to develop skills in dance and theater in a fun and encouraging environment.
Tygett will lead two of the camps, including a Children’s Ballet Camp for ages 5 through 10, scheduled for June 8-12 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. She will also instruct a Jazz and Contemporary Dance Camp for ages 6 through 18, taking place June 1-5 from 11:15 a.m. to noon.
In addition, Graham will direct a Musical Theater Camp for ages 8 through 14, running June 1-5 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The camp will focus on acting, singing and stage performance, giving students the opportunity to grow in confidence and creativity.
Graham, a professional director and educator who has worked in the performing arts since 2007, brings a strong background in theater, including a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance and a master of fine arts in acting. Her experience includes work with multiple theater companies and productions.
Tygett, who serves as a dance instructor at Sycamore, brings technical skill and a passion for working with young people. Her involvement in the camps continues Sycamore’s commitment to providing high-quality arts programming for local youth.
Sycamore Executive Director Bobbyjon Bauman expressed appreciation for both instructors and their willingness to invest in students.
“We’re very grateful to have Hannah and Diana sharing their time and talents with our kids this summer,” Bauman said. “They bring a level of excellence and passion that makes a real impact on our students.”
All camps are offered free of charge as part of the Sycamore Youth Center’s mission to provide accessible enrichment opportunities for children and teens throughout the Ohio Valley.
Space in each camp is limited, and registration is available online at sycamorecenter.com.
