Area residents gathered in front of the Weirton Municipal Building Thursday afternoon in observance of the National Day of Prayer. Organized through the Weirton Ministerial Association, six local clergy – Pastor Craig Greathouse, Pastor Gary Lilly, Pastor Randy Krebs, Pastor Bennett Briles, Minister Brian Renk, and Pastor James Brown – offered prayers for the community and its people, as well as the nation. Weirton Mayor Dean Harris presented a proclamation in recognition of the event, with a musical selection performed by Kriss Pino. Elder Michael Smith served as master of ceremonies.
