Area artists and other guests gathered at the Summit Art Gallery in Weirton, Thursday, for the opening reception of “America and Art – Celebrating Our 250th Founding Through Art,” a new exhibit on display until July 6. The exhibit features the works of local artists honoring the United States’ semiquincentennial, featuring original 2D and 3D art, as well as photographs. The Summit Art Gallery is located within the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau offices at 243 Three Springs Drive, Suite 17, Weirton, and is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday hours.
