Members of the Weirton Rotary Club, during their meeting Wednesday, heard from Ward 5 Councilwoman Brittany Holloway, who spoke about the City of Weirton’s Youth Council. The Youth Council was initiated in 2025 as a pilot program to provide opportunities for youth in seventh, eighth, and ninth grades to get involved in civic leadership. City Council renewed the program following the graduation of its first class earlier this year, with an eye toward participants serving an advisory role to the mayor and council on youth-related issues in the community.
