Second Saturday to provide a soulful evening

WEIRTON -- It will be an evening of music, vendors, food and more as Second Saturday offers its July edition this weekend.
Organized by the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau, Second Saturday will open at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Weirton Event Center, featuring performances by Soulful Femme and House of Soul.
Soulful Femme, featuring the vocals of Stevee Wellons and guitar by Cherly Rinovato, will serve as Saturday's opening act, performing from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Pittsburgh-based duo fuses soul, blues, funk, rock and R&B to provide its unique sound.
Also from Pittsburgh, House of Soul will take the stage at 7 p.m. as the main act of the evening.
The 11-piece R&B, funk and soul band has been a staple of the region's music scene for more than 30 years, with an ensemble featuring a horn and rhythm section and shows throughout the area.
Second Saturday includes an array of food, craft and artisan vendors, as well as a farmers market. Those scheduled to be on hand this week are Addie's Custom Creations, Big B's Produce, Crow's Hollow Botanicals, Dunn's Farm, Graham Acres, Grandma Candy's Goodies, Lynn Murray Memorial Library, Mayfair's Creations, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Repurposed+ and STK Bread.
Food vendors scheduled to be on hand are the Chick-fil-A Beaver Valley Mall food truck and Tate's Teas.
It's all made possible through financial support from the community, including gold sponsors Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, Serra Village Retirement Community and Charles M. and Thelma M. Pugliese Charitable Foundation; silver sponsor WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center; and bronze sponsors Summer's Enterprise, Form Energy and Starvaggi Industries.
There is no charge to attend any of the Second Saturday events. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets and are reminded that no outside food or beverages are permitted inside the Event Center.
