The Jefferson County General Health District Thursday held a measles vaccination clinic in Bergholz for members of the Amish population. Led by health district’s nursing department with support by the Trinity School of Nursing, the department was able to vaccinate nearly 140 adults and children in two hours. Providing the clinic to a largely unvaccinated population is vital for safeguarding public health in Jefferson County, officials with the department said. The department plans to administer second doses of the MMR vaccine to complete the series at the end of September and provide flu shots as well.
