Members of the Northern Panhandle American Legion Riders gathered at the American Legion Post 10 in Weirton Saturday, to celebrate after raising $23,565 for the Train A Dog – Save A Warrior program through a motorcycle run held Aug 23. TADSAW is a national program which provides trained service dogs for disabled veterans. The funds raised will support seven teams, with each team including one veteran, one dog and one trainer. Among those individually recognized were WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center, and Kevin and Wendy Whalen of Rohrich Automotive, for contributions of $5,000 each, as well as WTOV-TV for promotional support.
