Weirton water officials making adjustments to address taste and odor issues

WEIRTON - The Weirton Area Water Board and its staff are taking preventative measures as a result of taste and odor issues detected in the water system. According to information released by the Weirton Area Water Board, other utilities along the Ohio River are experiencing similar issues of customers detecting an earthy taste or odor to their water, potentially a result of algae growth in the river. Boil orders issued for several Weirton streets

WEIRTON – Boil orders have been issued for several city streets by the Weirton Area Water Board following repairs to water lines in those areas. Boil orders are in effect for the 200 block of St. John's Road, the 3400 block of Elm Street, Brookeline Street, and Zeta Street, the 1400 to 2800 blocks of Kings Creek Road, Greentree Lane, Theresa Drive, Rhing Court, Northview Court, and all of Cove Valley Estates.
