Two Weirton residents charged in alleged vehicle, copper thefts

WEIRTON – Two Weirton residents are facing charges in relation to the alleged theft of items from local vehicles, as well as copper from telephone poles in the area. Jason Michael Sandy, 45, and Judith Kay Kernen, 48, of 3634 Lindberg Way, were taken into custody by Weirton police Thursday, following the execution of a search warrant on their residence. Sandy has been charged with four counts of breaking and entering a non-residence, along with one count of grand larceny. The Weirton Area Water Board issued the boil order Friday morning for Zeta Street, Brookline Street, and the 3400 and 3500 blocks of Elm Street, as well as any others in the area who experienced low or no water pressure.
