Calvin McPeek
McPEEK, Calvin Edward, 70, of Colliers, WV, passed away at 3:55 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, with his wife by his side at Weirton Geriatric Center, under the care of the staff and Valley Hospice.
Edward was born on Feb. 4, 1944, in Ritchie County, WV. He was the son of the late Samuel Eugene and Nellie Virginia (Shuman) McPeek.
Edward was a member of the Church of Christ, Langeloth, PA. He worked in the tin mill at Weirton and National Steel Corporations. He was a junior fireman with the Colliers Volunteer Fire Department. Many will remember Ed for his kind and gentle spirit and his knowledge of tools and trades at work.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas McPeek.
Ed is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Linda Ruth (Stull) McPeek of Colliers, WV; a cherished daughter, Kimberly Ann (Michael) Phillips of Belington, WV; three wonderful grandchildren, Jacob Edward, Jesse Michael and Jenny Lynnette Phillips; a brother, Fred McPeek; two sisters, Linda (Emery) Barnhart and Debbie (Corky) Casto, all of Weirton, WV; a sister-in-law, Lois McPeek of Colliers, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. and again on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main St., Follansbee, WV (304- 527-1717), with his son-in-law presiding over the service.
Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV.
