Diane Marie (Kukura) Jackson, 56, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday Morning, April 14 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Valley Hospice after a courageous seven-year battle with breast cancer.
Diane was born on December 7, 1960, in Weirton, WV. She is the daughter of Walter and Antonette "Toni" (Ciccarelli) Kukura of Follansbee, WV.
Diane graduated from Weir High School in 1979. She worked many years as a hair dresser and then later as a chiropractic assistant in Follansbee, WV, for 17 years. Many will remember Diane for her continuous love of family and friends, as well as her witty humor and amazing cooking. She had the ability to make anyone laugh and always kept her sense of humor. She was known as "Mama Jax" to many, and "Moojie" to her granddaughter, Camryn.
Diane was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Anthony and Betty Ciccarelli, her paternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Kukura, and her father-in-law Larry Jackson.
In addition to her parents, Diane is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jeffery "Jeff" Jackson of Wellsburg, WV, a daughter, Devan (Casey) Young of Valley Grove, WV, a granddaughter, Camryn Young, a brother, David (Dr. Carol Korzi) Kukura of Weirton, WV, a sister, Joan Simonton (fiance Sky Schrode) of Deerfield Beach, FL, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 17, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10 a.m. at James Funeral Home, Follansbe, WV (304-527-1717) with Reverend Margie Carr, chaplain, with Valley Hospice, officiating.
Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV.
