Raymond Buratynski

Raymond S. 'Ray' Buratynski, 92, of Toronto, Ohio, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 in the Christian House in East Palestine, Ohio surrounded by his family.

Ray was born Oct. 5, 1924 in Toronto, son of the late Walter and Anna (Boincka) Buratynski.

He was retired from Weirton Steel Corp. where he worked as a Construction Engineer. Ray was a life-long member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Toronto American Legion, the Weirton Steel Management Club and the 25 Year Club where he was Past President.

Ray was a veteran of the Naval Air Force, having served his country in WWII.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his daughter, Diana 'Dundi' Keating, who passed in 2006; his brother Stanley; and his sister Margaret Colbert.

Ray leaves behind his wife, Anna Sue 'Anka' (Balint) Buratynski, whom he married June 2, 1951; his three daughters, Andrea Tilbrook of Rogers, Ohio, Brenda (Tom) Ramer of Hendersonville, N.C. and Theresa Buratynski of Kailua, Hawaii; his eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Friday, Aug. 11 from 4-7 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Ray's Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate the Mass and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

There will be additional visitation held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Military Honors will be provided at the church immediately following the Mass.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Toronto American Legion for their annual scholarships or St. Francis Catholic Church.
