LUCY HOLDINSKY

At 100 years of age, Lucy Josephine Holdinsky, of Mingo Junction, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. She was born on January 1, 1922, a daughter of the late John and Nunziata (D’Aurora) Merlonghi. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, participating in the church choir, women’s club, and many other aspects of church life. Lucy was a graduate of the 1st class offered at Jefferson Technical Institute for Practical Nurses. After graduating, she was employed by Ohio Valley Hospital where she was an LPN on Men’s Medical and retired after 10 years of service. Lucy’s flower and vegetable gardens were as beautiful as they were bountiful. She also enjoyed cooking and sharing her delicious cuisine with family and friends alike. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family and friends.

She is survived by her son, George (Judith) Holdinsky; two daughters, Linda (Roland) Hintzman and Tina (Daniel) Hauck; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Holdinsky; a sister Mary Daloisi; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Holdinsky in 1999; a son, John Holdinsky; a sister, Jane Sawon; and a brother, Perry Daloisi.

Friends may call Monday from 10- 11 am in St Agnes Catholic Church, 204 Saint Clair Ave, Mingo Junction, Oh 43938. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 am in the Church with Father James Dunfee officiating. Entombment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Holy Spirit Mausoleum, Steubenville. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, 115 Union St., Mingo Junction.
