HARRY LALLY JR.
 
								Mr. Harry Wright Lally, Jr. age 87 of York, SC passed away on Monday, May 29th, 2023 at White Oak Manor of York, SC.
Harry was born on June 17th, 1935 in Wheeling, WV. He was the son of the late Harry W. Lally, Sr. and Dorothy Madelyn Schott Lally and was the widower of Adele Caroline Weber Lally who proceeded him in death on January 8, 2023. They had been married 61 years.
Harry graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School, class of 1952. He starred as a crafty left-handed pitcher, for the Crusaders. Harry continued his scholastic studies at Kent State University where he majored in Geology. Harry returned to Steubenville and began his career with Columbia Gas Company. In Steubenville, Harry was a Little League coach, and member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Career opportunities with Columbia Gas and later Columbia Hydrocarbon relocated Harry and his family first to Cambridge and then to Columbus, Ohio. Harry retired after 30 plus years as a successful Sales and Marketing leader.
While in Columbus, Harry volunteered his time with various Catholic Dioceses youth sports programs as well as recreational sports programs. He was especially proud of leading the St. Matthias Colts to an unmatched record of 11-0-0 season in 1976, as head coach. Harry was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, and participated in several charitable endeavors. Harry was an avid reader, researcher, historian, traveler, sports fan, music lover, game player and legendary story teller. Most importantly, Harry was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. Harry profoundly touched the lives of many, and his memory will live on with everyone he positively influenced. He will be remembered for his wit, charm and love of life.
Harry is survived by his children: Keith Lally, Haley Friary, Brent Lally (Kimberly), and Kathy Holbert (Chris); his grandchildren: Nikki Lally, Alyse Orloff, Kat Lally, Kyle Lally, and Maddie Holbert; and his great grandchildren, Alex and Umi. He is survived as well by his sisters and their families whom he loved dearly. Sisters: Lynda Gallagher and Lana Grill, nieces and nephew: Monica Grill, Dr. Kimberly Grill, Jeffery Grill, Karen Gallagher Caven, Lee Ann Gallagher Pratt. He was also blessed with a great niece and eight great nephews.
