JANET TRESSLER

Janet (Jan) Tressler (82) of Fort Mill, SC and formerly from Mansfield, OH, died peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023 in Memory Care at Wellmore-Tega Cay, SC. Jan was born in Steubenville, Ohio to John Iams Sanders and Delcie Lois McPeak. Her husband, James (Jim) Edward Tressler, passed away on August 8, 1996.

Alzheimer’s took over her memory and eventually, her body. She was an amazing, active, full of life, loving, kind and adored woman. We will miss our mom, but our memories will always be ones filled with laughter, not tears. Our mother had a great sense of humor and leaves behind her legacy of laughter, resilience, and kindness to those of us who knew and loved her.

Jan will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind her children and their spouses: Tami Hood (Bradford) of Charlotte, NC and Christy Staffopoulos (Peter) of Palm Harbor, FL, and loving family members John McPeak Sanders (brother), Lois Cook Fain (cousin), and Jill Sanders (niece).

She was very proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. She loved every moment she spent with them as they brought her much joy: Hayley Grace Hood, Amanda Kathryn Hood, Gregory Staffopoulos and Nicholas Staffopoulos. Jan especially loved animals ~ her cat named Kitty lived with her for 19 years until she moved to Fort Mill, SC. She loved and adored Lois’ cat Jake and Hayley and Amanda’s loyal yellow Labrador Retriever, Emma.

The family would like to thank all our mother’s private caregivers over the last year for their compassionate, kind, and respectful care. She loved them all: Senior Helpers-Rock Hill, Wellmore-Tega Cay, Live Long Well Care and Movement & Memory Care – Charlotte, NC. We would also like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care Palmetto Region (Fort Mill, SC) for their exceptional care of our mother over the last few months.

Funeral services will be privately held.
