WILDA HORTON

Wilda was born on January 16, 1929, in Mingo Junction, OH, a daughter of the late Hobson and Sarah (Browning) Chastain. In addition to her parents Wilda is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gene Horton, and a son, Jay Horton; and a special friend James Hair.

Wilda graduated from Burgettstown High School. She worked as a secretary for various businesses. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Weirton, WV for over 50 years. Wilda was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and rode through all 48 contiguous states. Wilda took many trips on her motorcycle including climbing the Pikes Peak Mountain in C.O. and led the parade in which she was crowned queen of the Sturgis Rally in S.D. in 1978.

Wilda is survived by two children, Cheryl Utz and companion Nick Ballato of Follansbee, WV, Gary Horton of FL; five grandchildren, Christina (Bruce) Cassidy, Chelsey Horton, John Horton, Carley Utz and companion Adam Speece, Corey (Megan) Utz; eight great grandchildren, Remi, Avery, Spencer, Anastasia, Dylan, Jasmine, McKenna, and Kendall.

There will be no visitation.

All services and interment are being held privately at the convenience of the family at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
