DOMINIC CICCHIRILLO
Dominic P. Cicchirillo 61, of Gainesville, Fl formerly of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on June 25, 2023, at a hospice facility in Gainesville, Fl with his family by his side after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
He was born on December 14, 1961, in Steubenville, OH to the late James Anthony and Mary Rose (Ciccarelli) Cicchirillo. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers in law Francis Paul Scurti and Patrick Sweeney, and a great niece Ava Marie Hileman.
Dominic graduated Brooke High School in 1980 where he was the recipient of the Clarke Hinkle Award in football and then went on to proudly serve in the United States Airforce as a Staff sergeant from 1984-1989. After the service he graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in mechanical engineering. Later he received his master’s degree in business administration from Robert Morris University. He was an avid golfer and runner, enjoyed spending time at the beach, was a big fan of the Florida Gators, and most of all loved his daughter Torri.
Surviving is his daughter Dr. Victoria “Torri” Cicchirillo of Gainesville, Fl, three brothers; Vito (Jo Ann) Cicchirillo of Follansbee, WV, Joe (Cheryl) Cicchirillo of Morgantown, WV, Jimmy (Kathy) Cicchirillo of Follansbee, WV, two sisters; Carol (Fred) Scurti-Miller of Follansbee, WV, Mary Esther (Dennis) Magyer of Steubenville, OH, his aunt Francis Mazzone of Follansbee, WV, seven nieces Kelly (Jeff) Petrelle, Marla (Jake) Hileman, Ashley Cicchirillo, Marcy (Cicchirillo) Grishkevich Esquire, Tiffany (Josh) Riggleman, Dr. Michelle Magyer and companion Nicholaus Crites, Dr. Melissa Magyer and Fiance Tyler Gorbet, four nephews; Dr. Paul Joseph “P.J.” (Dr. Connie) Scurti, Jimmy (Kathleen) Scurti, Dominic (Anakristen) Scurti, and Dr. Vincent (Jennifer) Cicchirillo, and several cousins.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dominic’s care givers Chelsea Spencer and Diana Allmon for taking such great care.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Father Justin Golna Officiating at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV 26037.
Inurnment will be held privately.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force and the Ohio Valley Veteran Memorial Squad.
