ESTHER WARBEL
Esther June Warbel, age 92 of Wolf Run, Ohio, passed away on July 9, 2023, surrounded by loving family. She was born on July 12, 1930, in Amsterdam, Ohio. June was the daughter of Cletus and Catherine (Price) Anderson and was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Tucker Anderson.
June married John Warbel on August 30, 1947, and they were happily married for 75 years. She was the mother of four children: Nick (who preceded her in death), Judy (George) Sponhaltz, John (Robyn) Warbel, and Mary Ann (John) Ferrigan. She left behind six grandchildren: Amy Sponhaltz, Adam Warbel, Kasi Williams, Ryan Warbel, Emma Ferrigan, and Colin Ferrigan, and five great grandchildren: Michael Jepson, Megan Jepson, Hudson Williams, Hollis Williams, and Maddox Warbel. She also left behind beloved neighbors and caretakers: Mike, Casey, Gavin Barnhouse, and Georgene Marcus.
June was a housewife with an adventurous spirit. She enjoyed discovering new things through books, road trips, food, and classes of all sorts. She was a member of All Saints Orthodox Church in Wolf Run, Ohio, and a member of the Eastern Star.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 11 at Dodds Funeral Home in Amsterdam, Ohio from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Services will be held at the same location on Wednesday, July 12 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Andrew Nelko officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Orthodox Cemetery and luncheon will be served at All Saints Orthodox Church.
