MARK OBERMANN
Mark William Obermann, 69, of Weirton, WV passed away Monday July 10, 2023, at home. He was born in Wheeling, WV on February 10, 1954, the son of the late Karl L. and C. Lucille (Rhoades) Obermann. On January 11, 1985, Mark married Carol Teaff of Weirton.
He was a 1972 co-valedictorian of Warwood High School and a 1976 graduate of West Virginia University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Following his graduation from WVU, he was employed by Oglebay Institute. After becoming a Certified Public Accountant, Mark was the assistant business manager of West Virginia Northern Community College and then moved to Ohio County Schools as the business manager/ treasurer. He retired in 2011.
Mark was an avid fan of WVU sports, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Atlanta Braves, and had an encyclopedic knowledge of every team he followed. When he wasn’t watching or listening to sports, he was biking, taking aerobics classes, lifting weights and going to the Outer Banks as often as possible. He was the loving servant of numerous cats and the proud companion of three German Shepherds. He was also the best husband in the universe and the best friend anyone could ask for. He was a good man.
In addition to his wife, Mark is survived by his sister, Carol L. Obermann of Wheeling. Also surviving are several cousins.
Mark requested cremation and no funeral service.
