MINNIE PETE
Minnie M. Pete, everyone’s “Aunt Minnie,” of Weirton passed away on July 7, 2023.
Born January 25, 1934, Minnie was a daughter of Tony and Maria (Paolo) Pete.
She served her country with the U.S. Army as a medical records clerk at Walter Reed Medical Center. After returning to Weirton to care for her parents she worked at Weirton Medical Center for many years.
She was a member of Saint Paul’s Church, where she attended Mass daily. She volunteered her time with the Lenten Fish Fries and was known as one of the Haluski Ladies.
Aunt Minnie loved hosting all the holidays and picnics at her home. Everyone was welcome!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Angeline, Mary and Rose; and her brothers, John, Patsy, Louis and Dominic.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend, Irene Canala.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Wednesday at Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Weirton.
Interment will follow at Saint Paul’s Cemetery.
