ROBERT LOAR
Robert B. Loar, 82, of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away on September 14, 2023 at Trinity Medical Center West. Robert was born on October 28, 1940 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Columbus and Mildred Brown Loar. Robert worked as a Supervisor for Howard Bowers Construction Company and was a member of the United Mine Workers. He was a 32 degree in the Steubenville Masonic Lodge # 45 F&AM, member of the FOP, Jefferson County Sportsman’s Club and American Legion Post 557.
Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife Carol L. Stewart Loar; sisters Eleanor and Ruthie; and brother Clarkie.
Robert is survived by three daughters, Tina (John) Taglieri, Carol (Patrick) Berry and Lisa Loar; sister Kathy Loar Halstead; five grandchildren Mindy (Adam) Pittis, Amber (Matt) Gould, Joseph Taglieri, Samuel Bradford (Taylor) Berry and Margaret Ann (Jeremy) Fuhr; and six great-grandchildren Justice Morris, Brock Pittis, Caleb and Bobby Gould and Samuel and Johnny Berry.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Tuesday, September 19 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. William Westling officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
