THOMAS MAINS SR.

Tom was born on May 29, 1950 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of Margaret Mains of Follansbee, WV and the late, Lloyd Howell Mains.

Tom was a 1968 graduate of Follansbee High School and went on to Bethany College before enlisting into the US Navy. He served proudly in the US Navy during the Vietnam War receiving numerous medals from Combat Action Ribbon to the Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals. Tom worked at Arcelor Mittal on the railroad. He was a member the Cedar Lodge in Follansbee, WV, the Elm Grove Eagles and served as Past State Eagle President. Many will remember Tom for his love of golfing with his Tuesday Crew and hunting down state with his friends; but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his son and his family especially his grand- children.

In addition to his mother, Tom is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan (Wsyatcki) Mains of Follansbee, WV, a son, Thomas Anthony Mains Jr. and his wife, Megan, two grandchildren, Logan and Olivia, all of Columbus, OH, a sister, Terry Mains of Follansbee, WV, a sister-in-law, Sandi Wsyatcki of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, two nieces and two nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 1:00 PM until time of Liturgy of the Word at 2:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Father Justin Golna, presiding, followed by Military Honors by the United States Navy and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
