KAREN MENTZER
								Karen Lee (Graham) Mentzer, 80, passed away peacefully on October 5th, 2023. She was surrounded by family members who she left to be reunited with the Lord.
Born April 29th, 1943 in San Luis Obispo, CA and raised in Weirton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Albert Graham and Mary Agnes Hannan.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, James Mentzer Sr., son James Mentzer Jr., son Scott Mentzer and his wife Minerva, and daughter Melinda (Mentzer) Oister and her husband Michael. She was a proud grandmother of eight grandchildren, Sari, Marni, Charlie and Jeffrey Oister, Marissa Rae (Carmona) Davidian, Sean, Kyle and Riley Mentzer and great granddaughter Ryan Jean Davidian. Karen is also survived by brother Eric Graham and wife Christine and sister Jill (Graham) Schmidlkofer.
Karen was a registered nurse, working for a steel company early in her career, then worked for a hospital, as well as for private clients then at a pediatric practice for 23 years before retirement. She had a vibrant, outgoing personality, many dear friends and enjoyed playing the organ in her church, antiquing, sewing & crafting, family camping and annual wintering to Florida during her retirement years. She always looked for reasons to organize social gatherings where she brought joy and happiness to all who were near her. She was an active member of Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community in Cranberry Township, PA, where she was a dear friend to so many residents there.
Karen’s family would like to thank her hospice and caretakers at Sherwood Oaks skilled nursing for their kind and compassionate care.
There are no plans for a funeral service due to her gift of body donation for medical research purposes.
