RICKY STOAKS

Ricky “Rick” Ray Stoaks, 71, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Wednesday, at Trinity Medical Center.

Rick was born on June 11, 1952, in Follansbee, WV. He was the son of the late Raymond Stoaks and Bette (Bryarly) Stoaks.

Rick worked many years for the City of Follansbee Water Department and later after retirement at the Brooke County Animal Shelter. Many will remember Rick for his love of nature, hunting, fishing and taking his dog for walks. He also had a love for music and often played his guitar and harmonica in addition to art and painting.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Stoaks and his dog, Biggie.

Rick is survived by his wife, Diana (Riggs) Stoaks of Follansbee, three children, Chad Stoaks of Follansbee, Shelby (Rory) O’Connor of Colorado and Jason Stoaks of Follansbee, two grandchildren, MacKenzie and Kaylie O’Connor, a sister, Kathy (James) Andreozzi of Follansbee, three nieces, a nephew and many friends.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 1 p.m. till service at 4 p.m. with Minister Dennis Arnold, officiating.
