CHARLES “JOCK” BIRKHIMER

Jock was born December 15, 1955, to Rodney and Martha Summers Birkhimer.

Jock was a 1974 graduate of Brooke High School and retired from Arcelor Mittal in 2019 with 43 years of service.

He loved to hunt, fish & play his guitar. He was famous for his turkey calls. He was easy going, funny & would do anything for you. He loved our family vacations to the beach & fishing trips with his friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Nancy & the man he looked up to Harold DeGarmo.

Left to cherish his memory is his caregiver and love of his life Mary Ann DeGarmo of Wellsburg, WV, daughter Brandi Birkhimer and Stacy and Jennifer Gallant, his mother-in-law Anna DeGarmo and his two grandkids who loved their Jockey, Piper Huff & Fitzgerald Gallant. Jocks biggest regret was not being here physically to watch them grow up. His brothers Frank & Duff Birkhimer. He will be missed by all who knew him, his friends, aunts, uncles & cousins.

Thank you to Valley Hospice who were so wonderful with both Jock & Mary Ann during these difficult days & to his support system. We Couldn’t have done this without all of you.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Reasner Funeral Home 1515 Charles St. Wellsburg, WV with Father Justin Golna as Celebrant.
