JAMES “JIM” KUTHY
James “Jim” Kuthy, 75, went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2023, at Valley Hospice Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV. Jim was born on June 21, 1948, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to his parents Zonnie Kuthy and Elizabeth (Shirbish) Ross.
Jim proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, where he received numerous accolades for his dedicated service. He was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Overseas Service Bar.
In addition to his military service, Jim worked as a skilled diesel mechanic before retiring. His expertise and dedication made a lasting impact on those he worked with throughout his career. Jim’s commitment to his profession was a testament to his strong work ethic.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debra (Trouten) Kuthy, his parents, Zonnie and Elizabeth, his brothers Michael and Zonnie Kuthy, and his sister Helen Auber. He leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his daughters, Missy Mikula, Kelly (Jeff) Kent, and Michelle Kuthy, as well as his adored grandchildren, Christian Mikula, Cheyenne Kent, and Addison Mikula.
Jim will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews, and also by a lifelong friend who shared countless memories together. To this friend, Jim left the message, “You know who you are.”
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, November 20, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Altmeyer-Elm Grove Chapel, located at 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, at 11 am, followed by the entombment at Mount Calvary Garden Mausoleum with full military honors.

During this time of grief, let us remember Jim’s remarkable life and the impact he had on those around him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort for all who knew and loved him.
