GEORGIA BROOKS

She was born December 21, 1926 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Josephine (Bierkortte) Letzelter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen S. Brooks Jr.; and six siblings, Melvin Letzelter, Mary Cross, Lloyd Letzelter, Rose Matta, Jack Letzelter and Barbara Steele.

Georgia was a sales clerk at the former 5 & 10 in downtown Steubenville and also at the former Isaly’s in downtown Mingo retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church; the Catholic Women’s Club; and the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary K. See of Mingo Junction, OH; four grandchildren, Michael (Sandy) See, Theresa Lindsey, Gary W. See II and his fiancee Kristi Hamilton and Ed (Chrissy) See; and nine great- grandchildren.

Friends will be received at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant. Interment will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, OH.
