PATRICK WILLISON

Born on November 24, 1945, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Edwin and Dorothy Willison. He received his GED in 1989 and worked many years as a coal miner. He met his loving wife Sondra Sue (Marcus) Willison in grade school and a love affair began at the young age of 11. They married at the age of 18 on February 22, 1964, and were married for 56 years.

Pat was known for his humor, kindness, and compassion towards everyone he met. He was an easy-going man who loved his family, the outdoors and sharing a good laugh. He liked to hunt and was an avid fisherman.

He was an active member of the Amsterdam Community Church of God where he served the Lord as a maintenance person, board member, sang in the choir as well as many other areas of ministry.

Pat was proceeded in death by his loving wife Sondra Sue (Marcus) Willison, his parents Edwin and Dorothy Willison, brother Max Willison, and sister Julia (Willison) Gregor. He is survived by his two sons Patrick J. (Cathy) Willison of Batavia, Ohio, Edwin L. (Sarah) Willison of Amsterdam, Ohio and daughter Bonnie S. Willison of Amsterdam, Ohio. He had five grandsons: Eddie, Kyle, Ben, Matthew, Patrick (Kelly) Willison who were the light of his world. Also cherishing Pat’s memory are two sisters Mabel (Chuck) Finley, Evelyn (Richard) Kopp, one brother Edwin (Shirley) Willison and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Amsterdam Community Church of God in Amsterdam, Ohio, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Bergholz Cemetery, Bergholz, Ohio.
