JOAN “JIL” LOFSTROM BROWN

Joan “Jil” Lofstrom Brown, 93, peacefully passed away on January 21, 2024. Born on April 19, 1930, in McKeesport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Helen Lofstrom. Jil graduated from McKeesport High School in 1948 and obtained her degree from Muskingum College in 1952, followed by an internship as a dietitian at University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. She was married to the late Russell Brown for 62 years, whom she met at Muskingum College. Jil was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Doris (James) Giles and her brother Jack Lofstrom. She is survived by her children Barbara (Mike) Murray, Tod (Kim) Brown, and David (Ann Marie) Brown, many loving grandchildren, brother Carl (Haeyoung) Lofstrom, sister-in-law Audrey Lofstrom, and other relatives. Jil enjoyed reading, working puzzles and playing Dominoes. She loved her family and had a smile for everyone she met. Inurnment will take place on March 30, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Muskingum University Columbarium, 163 Stormont Street, New Concord, Ohio 43762.
