PAUL SMITH
Paul E. Smith, Jr. 75, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday Jan. 5, 2024, in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.
Paul was born Sept. 9, 1948, in Steubenville, son of the late Paul E., Sr. and Mildred (Blankenship) Smith.
He previously work -ed at Twin State Motors, as a Master Mechanic, and at the former Hancock Manufacturing Co. in Toronto.
Paul was a Veteran of the US Marine Corp. He served during the Vietnam War at the battle of Khe Sanah, and during the Tet offensive.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW, where he was a Past Commander, and the NRA. Paul was an avid firearms enthusiast and gun- smith. He was an ultra-light pilot, a CB and Ham radio enthusiast, and a Mr. Fix-It for his entire family.
In additions to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas and Larry Smith; granddaughter, Alexandria Dawn Smith; niece, Lacy Lee Ault; and nephew, Tom Smith Jr.
Surviving is his son, Paul E. Smith, III (Amber Drury) of Benton, KY; daughter, Michelle Smith of Newark, OH; sister, Cindy (Aaron) Reese of Empire, OH; and special friend and neighbor, Jim and Heather Monigold of Toronto; three grand- children Brianne, Joey, and Holden.
Paul’s wishes were to be cremated with a graveside service to be held in the Island Creek Cemetery at a later date. Military Honors will be provided by the Toronto American Legion Post#86.
Arrangements for Paul are in the care of J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto.
