RICHARD HEATON
Richard Andrew Heaton, 96, of Coraopolis, PA. formerly of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at UPMC Passavant Hospital following a brief illness. He was ninety-six years old.
Richard was born on May 7, 1927, in Weirton. A proud member of the United States Navy, he rose to the rank of Quarter Master 3rd Class while serving in WWII and the Korean War.
Richard was given the gift of making anything from wood. He would make all types of furniture and he was at his best when he was exercising his craft for other people; an avid craftsman with the joy of sharing whatever he created.
His family meant everything to him, especially his granddaughter Taylor, “the apple of his eye.” The greatest joy to his memory was having the opportunity to move in with his son Eric and his wife Kelly, his caregivers, and having the ability to see Taylor every day.
Richard was preceded in death by the love of his life, Roberta (Toots) Davis Heaton who sadly passed on December 7, 2006.
Left to cherish Richard’s memory are his son Eric (Kelly) Davis and granddaughter Taylor all of Coraopolis, PA.
A private family viewing was held at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
Richard was entombed at Highland Hills Cemetery in Follansbee, next to his wife Roberta.
