SALLY VELEGOL

Sally Ann (Hodge) Velegol, 85 of Colliers, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at her residence under the care of her son with the assistance of Valley Hospice after a long battle with COPD.

Sally was born on June 22, 1938 in Mansfield, OH. She was the daughter of the late Royd Hodge and Mary Louise (Herrod) Hodge.

Many will remember Sally for her love of nature especially birds, crafts, crossword puzzles and going to the beach collecting shells to tole paint.

In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her son, Michael David Velegol, a brother, Dr. James Joseph Hodge and a brother-in-law, Harry McCarthy.

Sally is survived by her husband, John Louis Velegol Jr., a son, Tim Velegol, a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hodge, her husband’s siblings, David Velegol Sr. and wife, Carolyn, Patricia Ann McCarthy and Mary Elizabeth Wigginton and husband, Ed and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717.

Entombment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee,WV.
