SAMUEL GEDDIS
								Samuel James Geddis, 86, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday Jan. 4, 2024, in the Sienna Skilled Nursing Facility in Wintersville, OH.
Sam was born June 6, 1937, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late William J. and Margaret (Collins) Geddis.
He retired from Timet in Toronto where he worked in the Maintenance Dept. Sam was Presbyterian by faith and a former Knox Twp. Trustee.
His memberships included, J.U. Boosters Club, Upper Ohio Valley Notre Dame Club, Polish Athletic Club, Toronto Eagles, and the Steubenville Umpires Assoc. Sam was an avid Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan and a former coach for the Toronto Titans.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathleen ‘Kay’ (Haynes) Geddis, who passed away in Feb. of 2004, and two sisters, Wilma Campbell and Virgina Garee.
Surviving are three daughters, Melissa and Fred Schell of Knoxville, TN, Kelly Geddis and husband Danny Quesenberry of Morgantown, WV, and Amy Geddis of Toronto, and son, Sean Geddis of Hilliard, OH; three grandchildren, Shannon (Michael) Jameson, Hannah and Collin Geddis, and great-granddaughter, Mary Eden Jameson.
Visitation for Sam will be held on Sunday Jan. 7 from 12 noon to 4 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, where his funeral service will take place on Monday at 11 am. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate and burial will follow in the Island Creek Cemetery also in Toronto.
