Margaret Patitz Valuska, age 64, passed away on December 28th, 2023 at Weirton Medical Center. Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her courage and determination to live her life regardless of her challenges.
Margaret, known to family and friends as Maggie, was born on June 9, 1959, and was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Ann Wargacki of Weirton, West Virginia.
Margaret earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of Steubenville, now the Franciscan University. Following graduation, she was employed by Trinity Medical Center West as a medical-surgical nurse caring for patients. She also had a passion for volunteering and traveling with the American Red Cross Disaster Relief. In recent years, Margaret enjoyed being a vendor at a local flea market and participating in area festivals.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Mike Valuska; her son, Joshua (Jamie) Patitz of Commercial Point, Ohio; granddaughters, Mikaela Williams and Kyelah Kausky; great grandson, Braxton Williams; and brother Mark (Eileen) Wargacki of Auburn, Alabama.
In death, Margaret wished to continue helping others by donating her remains to the WVU Human Gift Registry for Research and Education.
Currently, there is no scheduled service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Margaret's caregiver and friend, Melissa Demetrise, for her continued care through the years to the entire Wargacki family.
