Doris Elrita (Davis) Hornick, 95 of Wellsburg, WV, died on Tuesday at the Wellsburg Healthcare Center.
Doris was born on March 19, 1929 in Brilliant, OH. She was the daughter of the late Myron "Bobby" Davis and Grace (Rager) Davis.
Doris was a 1947 graduate of Wellsburg High School. She was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church serving with the Altar Rosary Society, Pastoral Council, Volunteer Coordinator and Office Aide for the St. John Parish School in addition to her volunteer work with the Wellsburg Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, George Hornick, two sons, Larry and Richard Hornick, six grandchildren and a brother, Richard Davis.
Doris is survived by her five children, Bruce Hornick, Michael Hornick and his wife, Jenny, Diana DiProsperis and her husband, Ronald, Patti Smith and her husband, James and Elrita McAvoy, six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, three nephews and a niece.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, WV with Father Justin Golna, presiding.
Interment will follow at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom, WV.
