ANGELA MACRE

She was born November 15, 1927 in Mingo Jct.

Angela was predeceased by the love of her life, Albert D. Macre, whom she married on October 4, 1950 at St. Agnes Parish in Mingo. She is the daughter of the late Valgean Potenzina and Mary Fortunato. She is also predeceased by her brothers Rocco Potenzina and Joseph Potenzina; and twin sister Carmella (Carm) Wheaton.

Angela loved spending time with her family and friends. Nothing fancy, just being together on the porch or in her kitchen, pushing food and making memories. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club at the former St. Anthony of Padua Parish and volunteered many days in the cafeteria of the school. Having lived many years “across the street from the hospital,” Angela was often making pepper and egg sandwiches to drop off to patients and visitors of friends and family. Angela was a proud graduate of Mingo High School, where she learned to play basketball and made many life-long friends.

Surviving are her two children, Albert F. (Nikki) Macre of Steubenville and Patty Lou (Mark) Walzer of Sewickley, PA; Seven grandchildren, Albert F. (Abby), John, Anthony, Emily, Katelyn, Jimmy and Joey; and two great- grandchildren, Dominic and Alice.

Angela was “Aunt Ange” to many loved nieces and nephews. She was strong in her faith and passionate about her views. She told us to always help one another, and asked that we pray for her from time to time when she is gone. She has left her mark of love on so many of us. I know we will try to carry on her ways.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10-noon at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville followed by a funeral liturgy with Mass celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Matt Gossett will celebrate. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
