MARY SPETEK

Mary Madeline Spetek, beloved wife, mother, and pillar of her church community, peacefully passed away at Evergreen Personal Care Home in Washington, PA, under the caring hearts of Concordia Hospice Services on Thursday, June 6. She was born on February 6, 1928, in Houston, PA, to the loving embrace of Edmund and Anna Rodenski Cononge, and was one of four cherished children.

Mary’s journey through life was marked by warmth, devotion, and a steadfast commitment to her loved ones. She received her education at the Chartiers-Houston School District, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors. On August 17, 1947, she embarked on a lifelong journey with the love of her life, Joseph E. Spetek, whom she cherished deeply.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph E. Spetek brother-in- law Stanley Osiecki, sister Violet Mrock, and her husband Lloyd and nephew Alan Cononge.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Linda Kovalsky of Birmingham, MI., and Cathy Spetek of Weirton, brother Edmund (Nancy) Cononge of Canons- burg, and sister Anna Mae Osiecki of Washington, PA., and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with Mary’s family on Tuesday, from 11 am until the time of the 1 pm funeral service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.

Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Reverend William C. Stout will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 300 Three Springs Dr. Weirton, WV. 26062 in memory of Mary’s lifelong devotion to her faith and community.
