ANDREW SAWKA

Born February 11, 1967 to Thomas R. and Frances E. (Zychal) Sawka in Steubenville, OH.

He is survived by his sons Thomas W. Sawka of Colonial Heights, VA, Greyson Pierce of (Haley), Colonial Heights, VA, his partner Kate H. Ignaut (her son Jack) of Aurora, OH, his brother David A. (Lori) Sawka of Troy, OH, his sister Jennifer L. Sawka of Hilliard, OH, 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Thomas R. Sawka and Frances E. (Zychal) Sawka.

He graduated from Jefferson Union High School Richmond, OH in 1985.

He attended The University of Mount Union Alliance, OH and graduated with his degree in Political Science and a minor in History. He went on to complete his Masters in Education from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA.

He was a teacher in the Virginia School Systems for over 20 years.

Andrew was a proud dad and loved his boys. He was active and supportive with them in wrestling, boy scouts, little league.

His other passion besides his family was wrestling, first as a H.S. and college wrestler, then in later years as a wrestling coach. He spent 20 years coaching and mentoring young athletes thru wrestling.

Andrew had a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor that was so uniquely his own. He could always make you laugh, and sometimes annoy the hell out of you. There was never a moment he wasn’t pushing boundaries in some way, as was his nature .

He will be missed by so many family and friends.
