REVEREND PAULINE MITCHELL
Reverend Pauline Kathleen (Peticca) Mitchell, 96 of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully at 11:23 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV under the care of the staff with the assistance of Valley Hospice.
Pauline was born on April 17, 1928 in Follansbee, WV. She was the daughter of the late Domenic Peticca and Josephine (Dight) Peticca.
Pauling was a member of the Follansbee Church of the Nazarene. Many will remember Pauline for her love of baking.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend George William Mitchell Sr., two children, Robert “Bobby” Mitchell and Kathy Shirer, a granddaughter, Shawna and a great granddaughter.
Pauline is survived by her three children, George Mitchell Jr. and wife, Jane of Florida, William “Bill” Mitchell and wife, Christine “Tina” of Colliers, WV, Bobby Mitchell of Follansbee, WV, seven grandchildren, Elicia Kellenberger, Lori Antonetti, Thomas Mitchell, Carl Shirer, Katie Rawson, Erica Stearns and Beth Lawrence, nine great grandchildren, Jenna and Tyler Kellenberger, Christopher, Sammy, Gracie and Makayla Shirer and Daniel and Nathan Rawson and Caleb Lawrence.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 4:00-6:00 PM and again on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Chaplain Mark, officiating.
Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery Haven of Rest, Colliers, WV.
