Robert John Yachini, Jr. of Colliers, WV died peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at UPMC Montefiore Hospital.
He was born on September 15, 1968, in Wheeling, WV, a son of Carol (Campbell) DiPino of Hilton Head, SC and the late Robert John Yachini Sr. In addition to his father, Rob is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 20 years whom he loved still to this day, Christie Marie (DiPino) Yachini on September 2, 2016.
Rob, affectionately known as Robbie, graduated from Brooke High School Class of 1986. He was on the 1985 Brooke High Football State Championship team. Rob earned his bachelor's degree in education from WVU. One of his greatest achievements in life was playing football for the West Virginia Mountaineers, including representing the team in the 1988 National Championship game. Rob worked in pharmaceutical sales for over 20 years, where he worked at GlaxoSmithKline and Indivior. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Robert is survived by two children that were his life, Abbi Yachini of Atlanta, GA and Christopher Yachini of Follansbee, WV; three siblings, Dodie Cocozza and husband Joe of NJ, John Yachini and wife Kate of SC, and Megan Yachini of WV; his stepmother Candace Yachini of WV, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he adored.
Visitation for Rob will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm with a vigil service at 6:30 pm at Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV 26037.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10:00 am with Father Gerlad Mouka officiating at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1017 Jefferson St. Follansbee, WV 26037. Entombment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens in Follansbee, WV. Condolences may be sent on www.mullen bachfh.com
