WILLIAM REITTER
William Christopher “Chris” Reitter, 77 of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at his daughter’s home, surrounded by those he loved the most due to a short-term illness and a broken heart.
He was born on September 7, 1946, in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late William and Edra (Jones) Reitter. In addition to his parents Chris is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years Shirley (Larkey) Reitter on April 4, 2024; a son, William Christopher Reitter; two brothers, Bob and Richard Reitter; his stepmom Marty Reitter; and a stepbrother, Ernie Rhome. Chris was Christian by faith and was the owner operator of Brooke Machine. He also worked for various tool and dye shops throughout the years. Chris loved driving cars, spending time with his family and everything that had to do with fishing.
He is survived by seven children, Theresa Moran of Weirton, WV, Michael Moran of Wellsburg, WV, Steven (Beth) Moran, William (Josie) Moran, Carol Altomare, Melissa (Joe) Reed all of Colliers, WV, Christina Cross and Paul Cross of Follansbee, WV; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; four siblings, Judy Hunter of Weirton, WV, Gary (Fran) Reitter of Weirton, WV, Robin (Ron) Cattrell of Toronto, OH, and Paul (Jennifer) Reitter of Wellsburg, WV; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for Chris will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rick Ireland officiating at Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV 26037.
Interment will follow at St. John Haven of Rest Cemetery in Colliers, WV.
