ANGELO MASTROIANNI

Born on December 15, 1934, in Steubenville, Ohio, he was the youngest of seven children born to the late Fedele “Frank” and Teresa Alessio Mastroianni.

On August 31, 1957, Angelo married Joanne Mieczkowski.

A reservist in the US Navy, he retired from the Weirton Steel BOP.

Angelo helped build the WBA and enjoyed coaching little league. He also loved giving back to his church, St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, where he volunteered during the Lenten Fish Fries.

Angelo was a member of the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club, Moose Lodge 688 (where he served as Governor, and the Knights of Columbus 3734.

In addition to his parents, Angelo was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph, Carlo, and Guido Mastroianni, Frances Connors, Ralphina Ostrowski, and Jennie Sferella.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; his son, Michael (Paula) Mastroianni; his daughters, Theresa “Terry” Baker (Carl) and Kristen Schoenberg (Tom); and his grandchildren, Christopher and Jennifer Mastroianni, Victoria Turner (Alex), Justin and Michael Baker, Benjamin, Lucas, and Bella Schoenberg.

A Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday at Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Weirton, officiated by Fr. Binu Sebastian.
