KAREN CAPTOR
Karen Captor, 71 of Tiltonsville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Shadyside Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Shadyside. Ohio. She was born January 8, 1953, in Ohio Valley Hospital, Steubenville, OH the daughter of the late of the late Gene and Louis Nida.
Karen was a retired Registered Nurse, graduating from the Ohio Valley School of Nursing class of 1975, a proud Winterville High School class of 71. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary, V.F.W., and a member of the Firemen’s Club in Dillonvale. In her younger days she belonged to the Brownie’s and Girl Scouts.
She worked for the Ohio Valley Hospital, Steubenville and Trinity East in the Coronary Care Unit and the Intensive Care Unit from 1975 to 1998. She loved being an RN and helping people. She fought heart condition over the years and never gave up always having a cheerful outlook. Karen loved music and playing the Juke box, watching “Dancing with the Stars and the Voice”. Her favorite singing group was The Mamas and The Papas and loved Melissa Etheridge. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and watching her nephew Brad play football.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joey Captor, and Brother Brad Nida.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Joe Captor, sister-in-law, Connie Buydasz of PA, nephews Brad, Kevin, Adam Nida of PA, and Sam Lampazone and Kenny Brindley both of Tiltonsville and great-niece Kelli Brindley.
There will be a memorial visitation on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 4PM at the United Methodist Church, 108 Grandview Ave., Tiltonsville, OH 43963, with a luncheon to follow in the church hall.
