Irene Mesler, 95, of New Cumberland, passed away on Saturday October 26, 2024. She was born on October 24, 1929, in the daughter of the late Alexander and Julia (Mackuzieski) Kaplun. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Mesler; son-in-law, George Kontra; three sisters, Jean Kapluin, Stella Blanchard and Theresa Wagner; two brothers, Robert and John Kaplun.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of New Cumberland.
She is survived by her loving family, two daughters, Bonnie (Bob) Juszczak, of New Cumberland, Kathy Kontra, of New Cumberland; a son Thomas (Cindy) Kaplun, of Weirton. Also, by six grandchildren, Jason(Becky), Jennifer, Julie, Melissa (Atul), Amanda (Rob) and Jonathan; fourteen great-grandchildren and a sister Carolyn Baker of Weirton.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am at the Immaculate Conception Church of New Cumberland on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Interment will follow at the family cemetery, White Oak Pointe, in New Cumberland. The family would like memorial contributions made in her name to St. Jude or the Shriners.
