SHIRLEY VALUSKA
Shirley J. Valuska, 92, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio on October 7, 1931 a daughter of the late Harry F. & Mildred K. Harvey Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Valuska, Jr. who she married June 27, 1953; brother Harvey L. Thomas; brother-in-law Dr. James Valuska; sisters-in-law Anna Thomas, Evelyn Valuska & Charlotte Valuska.
Shirley is survived by her children Karen (Mike) Mathis, Kathy (Mike) Maguschak, Kimberlee Valuska and Thomas (Kelly) Valuska; four grand- children Caitlin (Calvin) Bell, Benjamin Mathis, Megan Valuska & Emily Valuska; four great-grand-child- ren Sadie & Sam Bell and Grace & Addie Mathis; sister-in-law Joanne (Jim) Gorney; brothers-in-law Dr. David Valuska & Kenneth (Paula) Valuska and many nieces & nephews.
Shirley was an avid fan of Steubenville Big Red where she graduated in 1949. She listened to every game. She was a devoted Pittsburgh Pirates fan even having her name announced at the game on her 90th birthday. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Life member of the GFWC-Ohio Woman’s Club of Steubenville and a member/treasurer of Hickory Twig/Trinity Hospital. She had a passion and was a formidable Bridge player. She had a special group of friends who played Bridge twice a week. She will be remembered and missed by all who ever had the fortune of knowing her.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Raod, Wintersville, Ohio on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Walter Coy officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Southern Care Hospice or a charity of your choice.
