VICTORIA LANG

Victoria LaVerne Lang, born May 23, 1948, died Oct 7, 2024. Died at home after a long battle with many chronic illnesses. She was born in Weirton, WV.

She was preceded in death by her Mother, Bessie Mildred Lang, her Father Fred Marion Lang, brothers Rudy Marion and Fred Allen Lang. Her grandson John Taft Anthony Anderson also preceded her death.

She is survived by two sisters Jackie G. Lang-Bird and Carlend LeMay Crago as well as her Son John Taft Anderson and daughter Victoria Shanielle (Anderson) Shenton of New Cumberland, WV. She has 3 granddaughters Tash Hailey Anderson, Breydi Shanielle (Shenton) Arnold, and Sage Catherine Shenton, along with great grandson, Ryan Peyton Taylor, all from New Cumberland. She was very close to all of her grandchildren and enjoyed every moment she had with them. She was known for her silly/sarcastic sense of humor and loved laughing and making others laugh. She was always there to listen and help others through hard times.

Vicky was a home maker for the most of her life but did have jobs outside the home as well. She always talked about when she was younger working at the Weirton “Confectionery”. She also worked as a secretary and sold Avon. She volunteered her time on a local Coalition to try to prevent waste pollutuing the area where the once resided.

Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her grandchildren. She was always there to listen, gave good life advice, and always wanted updates on their life’s happenings.

Vicky definitely had a green thumb and could save just about any plant that she touched and could recognize just about any type of flower or tree type. She enjoyed the holidays, flower gardening, and loved growing tomatoes. She was known for her delicious cookikng and baking, listening to music, doing word puzzles, soaking up the sunshine, listening to her many wind-chimes she hung on her porch, and writing poetry. She once had a poem, that she authored, printed in a poetry book. She was very much loved and enjoyed her family, country living, taking pictures, and being a Mom and Mammaw. She will be missed by her family and friends.

There will be a memorial service for Vicky at New Hope Baptist Church in Weirton. Date and time to be announced.
