JAMES SPEECE, SR.
James D. Speece, Sr., 81, of Hookstown, passed away Tuesday November 5, 2024. He was born in Bens Run WV on July 14, 1943, the son of the late Layman and Dolly (Brewer) Speece. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Brady and Burl Speece; three sisters, Nora Shreves, Mabel and Shirley Speece.
He is survived by two sons, William (Dawn) Speece of Paris and James (Deborah) Speece Jr. of Weirton; two daughters, Melissa Lightcap of SC. and Patty (Guy) Yawn of Ga.; six grandchildren including, Edith, and fourteen great-grand- children. He is also survived by a brother, Don (Patty) Speece of Weirton and a sister Dorothy Rosinick of Ohio and Special Care Giver, Jacqueline Thompson.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Nixon Funeral Home of New Cumberland, from 2 pm to time of service at 4 pm.
